Eat. Cook. Laugh. Learn. That’s how Valerie Maher describes a cooking class at Cooking Studio Taos.

Run out of the home Maher shares with her husband, James Beard Foundation-recognized chef Christopher Maher and their family, Cooking Studio Taos offers a more than just cooking camps. It offers one-of-a-kind experiences.

Cooking Studio Taos is partnering with the beautifully renovated, luxury Taos inn Palacio de Marquesa in July to offer an unforgettable culinary weekend. This special camp will begin with an intimate dinner at the home cooking studio on Thursday, July 17, feature two days of Mediterranean and Thai cooking instruction, and concludes with a brunch at Palacio de Marquesa on Sunday, July 20. You’ll learn everything from basic knife skills to how to pair the best beverages with your dishes!

Attendees who stay at Palacio de Marquesa over the weekend receive an exclusive discount on their rooms and on the cooking camp costs.

In addition to his James Beard Foundation honor, Chef Chris won the AAA Four Diamond Award for six consecutive years, and has cooked for the Dalai Lama and former-President Bill Clinton.

During Cooking Studio Taos cooking camps, Chef Chris shares more than just a list of ingredients and a step-by-step guide for making great dishes you can replicate at home: He shares his wealth of knowledge from kitchen skills to the dishes he instructs. Everything is collaborative, everything is hands-on and everything is intimate.

That’s right, you take personalized lessons from one of the world’s top chefs in his own personal kitchen. You work together, and you eat together. Chef Chris, whose acting career includes credits in 16 films and numerous television shows, is a passionate, magnetic and deeply knowledgeable teacher.

As Valerie Maher says, you laugh and you learn.

The Maher’s home cooking studio is tucked up against the Taos mountains with remarkable views over the landscape to the east. That same landscape inspired Georgia O’Keeffe, who lived just a few miles away, to paint some of her most dramatic works. The neighborhood is secluded, the home cooking studio filled with natural light. Cooking Studio Taos offers an oasis for any foodie – or anyone who would like to expand their culinary horizons.

From start to finish, the special cooking weekend will be filled with delicious food, perfect luxurious comfort and many memorable moments.
