Q: Where are you from originally?
I was born in Chicago.

Q: When you aren’t overseeing your property and staff, how do you like to spend your time?
I love my family time. I have two teenage daughters who keep me entertained and a lovely wife who keeps us all on track. I love to mountain bike, and enjoy the trails in Santa Fe. When the snow falls, I enjoy heading up to Santa Fe Basin for some good downhill skiing. And, I spend time completing my “honey do” list in a timely manner.

Q: Where did you go to school or obtain your degree?
University of San Diego (USD).

Q: What is your prior experience to this position?
I have been a General Manager for the last 13 years. I got my first General Manager position in Breckenridge, Co., and have had other opportunities in Yosemite, Napa and Santa Fe.

Q: How long have you been with Hyatt and Hyatt Regency Albuquerque? Did you start as a GM? If not, what positions with Hyatt have you held in the past?
I started my career with Hyatt, first at the Hyatt Regency Palm Springs, then transferred to the Hyatt Regency Beaver Creek. I held the positions of Purchasing Director, F&B Manager, Front Office Manager, Reservations Manager, Revenue Director and worked in engineering as a project manager for a bit.

Q: What was it about Hyatt and this specific property that attracted you to the position?
My family and I have fallen in love with New Mexico and wanted to stay in the area. I interviewed with Heritage Hotels & Resorts and found an ideal fit. I love the staff at the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque!

Q: What is your favorite thing about the hospitality industry, or about your job in general?
You never know what your day is going to bring! I have yet to have a boring day in this business-I’ve had tough days, sad days, days I want to forget…..but never a boring day.

Q: Describe your vision for your property moving forward in one sentence.
My vision is for Hyatt Regency Albuquerque be the hotel of choice in Albuquerque for both guests and employees.

Q: If you had to choose the one thing that you feel makes your property so unique, what would it be?
A very passionate staff! This team truly cares about this hotel, strong family feeling here.
